Gotcha Day and more

Sorry I am not posting more (Jennifer, Hector told me you posted on his about me). I haven't had time to get to the business center. Bill is going to down load pictures tonight if all goes well. Where do I start....
Ella is beautiful. We received her yest. which is China's Valentines Day. When we entered the civil affairs office the babies were there and some nannies were teasing us by walking around us with the babies. Ella did not cry when we received her and really hasn't cried since. They did not cut her hair and it is long. She LOVES to be held and suck her thumb. She cries when we try to hold her away from us to look at her. However, she loves her toys and throws them in the air. She slept soundly through the night and so did Liam. Liam has ignored her and told his dad he is afraid we won't play with him much anymore. Most of yest., and today is filled with paperwork. We are leaving again in a few minutes to do the passports. We weighed Ella as best we could and think she is 15 lbs. We met the director of the orphanage and the two head nannies but not her nanny so we still don't know much about her. She hasn't been given food yet. She eats a paste from a bottle made of formula and rice cereal with a large hole in the bottle. She has two bottom teeth.
There was a huge flood in Beijing yest that closed the airport, we got out just in time.
Opps, gotta run and catch the bus. Bill will try and post pictures tonight which will be Tues AM. Canadian time.

HI! I can't wait to see pictures! There was a picture of Maggie with a nother baby on Hector & Sandy's blog but it didn't look like Ella. That Maggie Turner sure is cute!

When we were there and we were concerned or frustrated with Ian's behaviour I kept having to remind myself that it's a very very hard way to become a big brother - you're tired, in a TOTALLY unfamiliar place, totally out of your routine and away from your comforts. I kept thinking that if only we could plunk him down in front of a few minutes of Max & Ruby every once in a while things would be much easier. Hang in there, it will come. I remember one of the guys in our group commenting a few weeks ago how much fun it is to see the sibs falling in love, and it truly took about three months for Ian and Laura to fall in love. It might take a while for Liam to figure out that sharing centre stage is worth it given how much fun he's going to have with her.

I saw on Hector's blog that you guys are getting an orphanage visit after all - terrific! Remember to ask is Ella ever spent time in foster care. Can't wait to hear about that trip and your trip to Ella's finding spot.

Glad to hear she slept through the night - you really need the rest right now!
